Not the best pic but you get the idea.
Yikers Mikers! Here we are at 35 weeks and only 5 left in this whole pregnancy thing! I cannot believe how fast time has passed! We went to the Dr. yesterday to check on C's position and to get some measurements on the little guy. I can't believe how much he has grown since we last saw him, truly amazing! The last time we had a sonogram was around 20 weeks so I have been DYING to see his little face. It is amazing how just a little glimpse of our sweet boy can make me so happy!
According to his measurements Colton is weighing in at about 6lbs 7oz. which pushed my Estimated Due Date up to the 29th of Dec. instead of the 4th of Jan. Now, I know sometimes Dr.'s measurements can be off so I am not betting on an early delivery or that his weight/size is exact but HOLY COW I hope he comes before he reaches 9lbs! The doc said that if he gets to be pretty big he would offer a c-section but we all know how I feel about that so we will just have to wait and see how much weight Colton plans on gaining. On the other hand, my doctor said he doesn't induce (esp. 1st time mommas) unless we are about 7 days past our due date. Soooo, we will have to see just how miserable I am and how big C is and so on. Other than that Colton is head down and ready to go which was good news for us because he had been breech the last several times we had gone to the dr. All in all everything is looking good for D-Day. Hopefully he stays put for the next few weeks while we prepare to move, move and get settled in our new "home."
Oh yeah, I was also one of the "lucky" few that had tested positive for Gestational Diabetes, Y a y....
I was kinda bummed when I got the news because I felt like I wasn't doing something right and not taking care of Colton. Amazing how much guilt you can feel about things already! But after talking with the Doc, sitting in a fun 4 hours nutrition class I realized it wasn't as dramatic as I had conjured up in my head. I was also kinda sad because this meant I had to watch what I ate... SAY WHAT?! This is something so completely foreign to me. But alas it is just another obstacle for me to jump over. So I have been enjoying pricking my finger about 6 times a day to make sure my blood sugar is staying within the appropriate parameters and that Colton is getting the necessary nutrients he needs. So far I have done well with sticking to the diet plan and making sure that my #'s don't get too high...it is tough though.
Well, that is all for now. Hope everyone is having a great week!!
