29 weeks

When are you due? Still January 4, 2011 and right on track for that also. Went to the Dr. yesterday and my belly measured 29 cm ...perfect for 29 weeks. Looks like an unlikely early delivery. :(

Boy or Girl? Boy

Baby Name: Colton Royce Gray

How many weeks? 29 weeks and 1 day

Is this your first pregnancy? Yes

Total weight gain/loss: sitting on exactly 20 lbs gained from the start, weighing 153. YiKES!

Maternity clothes? Yup, I don't like 'em very much.

Have you Started to show? Yes, very much.

Stretch Marks: Nope but I am getting a little soft since I have not done a single thing since the first week of September. Maybe I should take up some yoga or Pilate's??

Sleep: Sleeping on and off throughout the night. Usually wake up at about 2 and then 5ish. Guess my body is preparing for the sleepless nights to come.

Movement: Lots and Lots! He is quite the squirmer.

Leakage: Nope. Thank Goodness.

Labor Signs: None

Belly Button in or out: IN

Wedding Rings on or off: ON

Any food cravings?: No, not really. Nothing that I just HAVE to have. but I am liking a lot of red meat when I can get it.

Worst thing about being pregnant?: That Colton is really enjoying himself up in my ribs.

Best thing about being pregnant?: Getting to feel his movement so frequently and getting to talk about him when people ask.

Are you mostly happy or moody: I think I have been pretty happy lately. Who knows, J may have another opinion. :)

When was the last time you cried? Oct. 2 when I married the LOVE of my life!

You pee and estimated ____ times a day?: A lot, not a frequently as previous months though. Maybe I am gaining some bladder control? haha.

Any weird dreams? No, haven't really slept deep enough to get any dreams in.

Will you breast feed? YES! I am excited for that bonding time and for the experience.

Any words of wisdom?: My best friends momma told me at our wedding that Colton will not remember where we lived, how big our home was, how his nursery was decorated. All he is going to want is loves and hugs and to not worry about all the other "stuff" that you think you need to have a perfect little baby. Made me feel a lot better about our "transitional" period we are going through with new jobs and a very small box we call home at the moment.

On another note, I went to the Dr. yesterday and was tested for gestational diabetes. What a fun trip that was. I drank the glucola (sp?) drink and then headed up to the dr's office for our regular checkup then had my blood drawn afterwards. All is well with Colton but he was having a hard time finding the heartbeat because Colton has decided he likes to hang out breech style. So his heartbeat was in the upper part of my tummy when usually it is below or around my belly button. Doc says it is no big but we will keep an eye on his position. If C stays in that position as we approach delivery then we would have to consider a cesarean..... something I am NOT too fond of! I know women have been having babies that way for YEARS and there have been no problems but I also know that the chances of ever delivering naturally drastically drop after having a c-section. This being kiddo #1 I don't want to have to have this "major" surgery every time we have child. That and I don't want to be numb from the shoulders down unable to hold, kiss and hug my sweet baby right from the beginning. That is such a big bond that I so desperately want to have and will cherish so it makes me a little sad to think I may not be ablet to have that. The only reason I am somewhat concerned about Colton NOT flipping around is because the dr. has notated a couple times that he was breech when we have gone in and done measurements and checkups. That and I can tell you that from now knowing his position after the dr. pointed it out, he has been sitting this way for about 3 weeks now..... SOOooooo, I am hoping that this sweet baby boy realizes that he doesn't HAVE to be the stubborn, German/Norwegian that he has naturally been bred to be. I know we also have lots of time for him to make a flip but 8 weeks is sure gonna fly by! Anyway, this post has been long enough and all it is is boring letters all over this page. Hope everyone is doing well and has a great week!

Oh and a special shout out to my sis-in-law, who is trying to put off labor for another week, WE LOVE YOU Sarah and hope that you are able to seek any rest and comfort you can!

  1. Have you heard of doctors turning the baby before they are born? I know a few people who have had the doctor actually turn the baby while it is still in the tummy. Its painful for the mommy, but it prevents the C-section from having to happen. You might ask him. They prob wouldn't do it until a lot closer to the due date because I've also heard that it can throw you into labor. Just a thought, but I have no experience with this so definitely ask your doc his thoughts!

  2. i hope he gets into a better position for you! that's not good news to hear! such good advice from your friends mom. it's hard sometimes, when you see what everyone else is doing (or buying) but NONE of that matters one bit, really.

sare is with me right now. she's trying her hardest to relax but those kiddies don't want to go to bed. figures, she comes here to be closer to the doc and relax, but it's only harder because the kids are in a new place. : (

  4. I think turning the baby is supposed to be quite painful and it risks getting the umbilical cord in the wrong place. I think it causes a lot of bruising to the baby, too. I do not know any of that for sure, though. Do NOT worry if you are going to have a c-section!!! :) You will be able to hold and kiss him right away! You will only be numb from your waist down. I did it and it was just fine... I just felt very sleepy! :)
