long time no blog

Ok, so we have returned from our roadtrip adventures without killing eachother and I must say it was quite possibly one of the best vacations I have been on. I am sorry I have not posted anything since returning but there have been a few things going on in my little household.

Upon returning from vacation I learned that my current place of "Work" had been shut down dur to the IRS....hmm sketchy, yes, definitely. So, yay, back from vacation to no work.

not so much....

However, I have since found another in betweener for now until I figure out what it is that I am really supposed to be doing. I am quite confused on that aspect of life currently.

Secondly, my computer decided it no longer wanted to charge and since it is an antique now by technology standards there are no charging cords I can buy to keep the same computer

time to buy a new pooter! just not looking forward to the pricetag but it will work out.

Also, all of my pictures are on that computer and I don't have a back up so there will be no vacation pictures or any FUN updates until we buy a new one. bummer. BUT I will still continue snappin' those pikcha's so one day this blog will be exciting again.

this post seems to be a downer but please don't be sad, it is just life, it happens. You look at it, asses it and move on.

So, some exciting news....

Justin and I are getting married!

YAY!

most likely in October. I have already found a place. saaaweeet!
(crossing our fingers for 10.2.10)

So of course, most of you know me and know that I do things, well most everything at my own pace and to the beat of my own drum which most of the time results in things coming in an "out of order" sequence....this would be no different.

We are expecting a baby Gray in January!

DOUBLE YAY!

Hence, the quick engagement/wedding. But know this, although we are getting married quicker than most, it is not something that we hadn't already discussed and had in the works. We are beyond excited and couldn't be more happy about everything coming our way this year.

To all you mommies out there......HELP!

I need/want all the advice you can offer, I know some of you are veterans and some are newbies but seriously spill the beans guys! :)

the details are small: I am due Jan. 4th (my nephew and friend tiffany's bday) and am not sure of the sex yet. We should know by the end of July.

Not much else is going on but we have a lot to plan for. any help is GREATLY appreciated.

I guess I am off to plan for a wedding, a baby, a bigger home, possibly a new vehicle and hoping to find a new, "real" job. whew. wish me luck!

  1. DANIELLE!!! how exciting! oh my goodness, so many new adventures. i always have to tell first time moms to just ENJOY this time. enjoy the time you have alone with justin because it will NEVER be the same again. and enjoy all of the little things about your pregnancy. i love to keep a journal or a little calendar marking special dates (your first appointment, when you find out the sex, how you celebrate milestones, name ideas, etc). then you have it to look back on whenever you want.

that baby will make life so worth living! i think being a mom is the greatest thing i've done in life and i really don't think i can top it. the first is SO exciting because everything you experience with this one is a first- pregnancy, labor and delivery, buying baby clothes and things, registering for a baby, holding that new little one in your arms, feeding it, changing it, the list goes on and on. it's such a fun time.

something i think people never really tell you is how hard it is (i think they're worried it'll make you scared, but just because it's hard doesn't mean it's not the best thing in the world). i just think it's important to be prepared for the sleepless nights, the frustration involved with nursing, the struggles involved. it's not always 'fun' all the time but you will love that baby so much. just follow your instincts. every woman has the potential to be a mother. everything will fall right into place and you'll see that you're a natural. congratulations again! on the baby AND the wedding! yea!! and if you ever have any questions, ask away.

  3. Oh man...Carrie's funny! But she's right about all of it too. We're really excited for a new brother-in-law/uncle, and to have a cousin on the Aanerud side! We can't wait to see next week!!!

  4. Wow, tons of exciting news! I don't know much about being a mother, but that's the beauty of motherhood! You don't have to be an expert right away, the most important thing is that you love that precious baby, and that just comes naturally. I sent you a long message on FB, so go read it!

  5. Danielle! That is such exciting news...and I've been there, I do life all-at-once myself, and even though it definitely makes things a little stressful at times, you just roll with it and know that you are where you are supposed to be, doing what you are supposed to do! My advice like I said on FB is to SLEEP!!!! My second piece of advice is to walk, run if you can, and stay active...it will make labor easier, give you that much needed energy you are lacking and your "after baby body" be as much like you "before baby body" - I say that as someone who was an athlete pre-baby like yourself! haha I hope that comes our right, even though it sounds very vain! Anyway, I look forward to blog updates on baby Gray!

  6. There is so much exciting NEWS!! The best part of being a mother is that you love them so much and they feel the same way about you. It definitely changes things up in the "journey" of life... it magnifies both downs and ups. Hopefully, the pregnancy isn't too hard because it seems you have a lot on your plate:) Just take baby steps... hehe
    Congrats!!
